As SIAA’s Chief Information Officer, David oversees a sophisticated, multi-platform and multi-state IT system that encompasses computing, telecommunications, networking, security, and acquisition integrations. Recognized as an international executive and business leader, David has over 20 years of tangible results in applying business acumen, technical expertise, and commercial and financial knowledge to ensure IT creates business value, supports corporate vision, improves the customer journey, and drives strategic initiatives through innovative technology leadership. Prior to joining SIAA, David served as CIO and Vice President of Information Technology at TÜV SÜD America, a subsidiary of the Munich-based TÜV SÜD AG, a global inspection, testing, and certification company. In that role, he was responsible for developing and executing IT strategy, operations, and security across multiple entities in several countries. He was also involved in seven acquisitions, including the largest acquisition in TÜV SÜD's 150-year company history. David holds a Master of Science degree in International Economics from Eastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Gordon College where he was a member of the Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society for Business Administration. In addition, he earned a Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management and has completed their Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy Program. He has also attained both ITIL v3 Certification and CISSP Certification.
Jerry Thacker serves as SIAA’s Director of Business Development for Commercial Lines, bringing nearly three decades of industry experience to the role. He works across the SIAA ecosystem—collaborating with master agencies, member agencies, and strategic partner carriers—to drive commercial lines growth and improve agency performance.
Since joining SIAA, Jerry has focused on building education and engagement programs that help independent agencies become confident and capable commercial lines producers. He co-developed the Commercial Lines Bootcamp program, which has trained hundreds of agents nationwide, and helped launch the BIA learning track to support newer producers.
Jerry partners closely with Agency Growth Coaches (AGCs) and Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) to develop and execute commercial lines strategies at the local level. He plays a lead role in planning and delivering initiatives like “Campaign in a Box,” carrier collaborations, and advanced sales training—all aimed at helping agencies increase commercial premium, improve retention, and serve small to mid-sized businesses more effectively.
A former producer, underwriter, agency owner, and sales coach, Jerry brings a practical, sales-minded approach to agency development. His work is guided by a clear mission: help independent agencies grow stronger, more profitable commercial books of business—one conversation, training, and win at a time.
As portrayed by actor Chris Hemsworth in the major motion picture, 12 Strong, Mark Nutsch (aka Mitch Nelson in the film) shares lessons learned in the now-declassified saga of a U.S. Special Forces team that overcame seemingly insurmountable odds to help achieve a historic military victory.
Mark Nutsch shares the true-life story of helping lead what is considered the most successful unconventional warfare campaign in modern history, a victory that changed the course of our country and the world.
In October 2001 following the attacks on 9/11, Nutsch led a heroic 12-man team of U.S. Special Forces on a covert mission to Afghanistan, where they would ride to war on horses to fight the enemy—side by side with their Muslim counterparts—capture the strategic city of Mazar-i-Sharif within a matter of weeks, and successfully overthrow the Taliban. Now a consultant to Special Operations Command, he earned a Bronze Star with valor for his bravery. Nutsch, as "Captain Mitch Nelson," is portrayed by actor Chris Hemsworth in the 2018 major motion picture 12 Strong, based on the best-selling book Horse Soldiers by Doug Stanton.
On stage, Nutsch enthralls audiences with an edge-of-your-seat, behind-the-scenes account of how this almost unbelievable event played out, impacted the world, and earned them the gratitude of a nation. He also shares perspectives on preparing his team of “guerrilla diplomats” for ever-evolving on-the-ground circumstances, and how resourcefulness, inventiveness, and commitment, along with adaptability, a diverse team, and a capacity to persevere enabled them to successfully accomplish their mission.
